Mercola short article against milk for calcium

Website of Dr. Mercola Cheers to Mercola!

The countries in the world that drink the most milk have the most osteoporosis.- I heard it at a talk a by T Colin Campbell in late 90s at Taste of Health in Seattle. It for me was a more nails in the coffin for milk. Remember Milk is a highly processed food, it is pasteurized, homogenized, and nutrients are then added to it like vitamin A and D. Vitamin D is just thrown in, as I have heard an not really measured. It has a shelf life when it is processed longer than a health live milk would have. Most milk should be eaten that day, and mostly by baby animals.

"The association between the intake of animal protein and fracture rates appears to be as strong as the association between cigarette smoking and lung cancer."
Dr. T. Colin Campbell

After looking at 34 published studies in 16 countries, researchers at Yale University found that countries with the highest rates of osteoporosis--including the United States, Sweden, and Finland--are those in which people consume the most meat, milk, and other animal foods. This study also showed that African Americans, who consume, on average, more than 1,000 mg of calcium per day, are nine times more likely to experience hip fractures than are South African blacks, whose daily calcium intake is only 196 mg. Says McDougall, "[O]n a nation-by-nation basis, people who consume the most calcium have the weakest bones and the highest rates of osteoporosis. ... Only in those places where calcium and protein are eaten in relatively high quantities does a deficiency of bone calcium exist, due to an excess of animal protein." Dr. John McDougall

Flu and the common cold and the after effects

Make sure to get plenty of rest. This what the feeling the body is having anyway. A class of biochemicals called cytokines rushes through the body with the virus or bacteria on the inside of cells. This makes you very achy, extremely tired and not very hungry. So yes if you are not hungry then don't eat.

Drink water or hot teas- Bed time tea - by Yogi Teas- has helped me sleep

There have been a host of other things I used when I got sick. It all depends on the symptoms. I have used homeopathy injections, high dose nutrients like Vitamin D, or Beta Carotene, or Vitamin A. I have used nano-particle silver. I have used hot soaks in the tub with essential oils of eucalyptus, and lavender. I have also taken a highly bioavailable liquid nutrient and mineral supplement.

Within 24 hours I had broke my fever. Now 72 only have cough which is getting better by the hour. I also have slept under my heat lamp at the office during break. Yes its important to rest, or did I say that already.

Be well,
Dr. Kozura
