Bug sprays - safety and effectivness

Bug sprays article

Hey this is an article appropriate to summer time. I like the balance of the article saying just because it is natural doesn't mean its any more safe. Yes, but I would want you all to try a safe alternative to DEET. Using lemon eucalyptus from the David Crow's Floracopeia means its environmentally harvested. Lemon eucalyptus

Also I just learned something new from this article as I recently got a tick in Germany or Netherlands. I was in my hotel one night after travelling and I lifted my sleeve and a tick was in my upper right arm. There was not a bulls eye rash which may signify an infection and no irritation around the tick so I thought I would use the old method of getting the tick out that I learned when I was young, to use a hot needle to touch the butt of the tick and supposedly the head would let go of your skin. Well I did and that and the tick didn't let go and I ended up pulling the body out and I didn't see the head in there so I thought I was safe. It healed quickly and no rash. The CDC website as shown in the article above says to just pull the tick straight out without the use of something hot. I may stick to my old method but I also see they may have some experts looking into the best way to get a tick out so if nothing around is hot I will just pull straight out. On the CDC website it says that even if the head is in there if you detach from the body, there is no chance of getting lymes as it can no longer transmit the disease.
